Dental clinic Google reviews: the short answer

To get more Google reviews for a dental clinic, ask every satisfied patient in person at the end of the visit, then send your direct review link by WhatsApp the same day. Make it a reception routine, track it weekly, reply to every review politely without medical details, and never offer anything in return for a review.

When someone in Riyadh or Jeddah searches for a dentist, they compare the three clinics in the map box in a few seconds: stars, number of reviews and what the latest reviews say. A clinic with 40 detailed reviews from this year usually beats a clinic with 300 old ones. Here is the routine we set up for dental clinics, with wording you can copy. It is part of our Google My Business service.

Why reviews matter so much for dentists

Google says prominence is one of the three main local ranking factors, and reviews are part of it. Reviews also affect the decision itself: a patient choosing someone to work on their teeth wants proof that other people trusted you and were treated well. Recent reviews that mention the treatment, the doctor and the experience do both jobs.

In your Google Business Profile, use the option to ask for reviews and copy the short link, then turn it into a QR code. Put the QR code at reception and on the payment counter, and save the link as a quick reply in your WhatsApp Business account.

Step 2: Ask at the right moment

The best moment is at the end of a visit that went well: after a cleaning, when braces come off, when an implant is finished. The doctor or the receptionist can say: “We are glad it went well. If you have a minute, a Google review helps other patients find us.” Then send the link within the hour.

Step 3: Use a short message

Copy and adapt this for WhatsApp:

Thank you for visiting us today. If you are happy with your visit, we would be grateful for a short Google review: [link]. It takes less than a minute and helps other families find a dentist they can trust.

Send it to every patient, not only the ones you expect to be happy. Choosing who gets the link to avoid negative reviews goes against the spirit of Google’s rules and makes reviews look less real.

Step 4: Reply to every review

Replies show future patients how you treat people. Keep them short, thank the reviewer, and never confirm that the person is a patient or mention their treatment, since that is private health information. For example:

  • Positive: “Thank you for your kind words. The whole team is happy to hear it, and we look forward to seeing you at your next check-up.”
  • Negative: “We are sorry to read this and want to understand what happened. Please contact our clinic manager on [number] so we can look into it directly.”

Step 5: Make it a weekly number

Track three things each week: patients seen, review requests sent and new reviews. A clinic that asks every patient usually sees a steady flow without any pressure. Put the number on the reception board.

What is not allowed

  • Buying reviews or using review exchange groups.
  • Rewards for reviews, such as a discount or free whitening.
  • Staff writing reviews for their own clinic.
  • Reviews written at the reception on the clinic’s own tablet or phone.

Google’s content policy treats these as fake engagement. Reviews can be removed and the profile can be restricted, which costs you far more than slow growth.

What to do about a fake or unfair review

If a review breaks Google’s policy, for example it is from someone who never visited, contains hate or is from a competitor, report it from your profile and keep evidence. Reply calmly in the meantime. If it is simply negative but real, the best answer is a polite reply and more genuine reviews over time.

Reviews in Arabic and English

Reply in the same language the review was written in. Detailed reviews in both languages help you show up for searches in both, and they help AI tools such as ChatGPT describe your clinic accurately.
